Gatari Regis: From Football Player to Studio Technician at Mount Kigali University

Gatari Regis works as a studio technician and practical instructor in the journalism department at Mount Kigali University (MKU). In a recent interview with student journalists, he shared details about his career path. Regis first joined MKU as a student. Near the end of his eighth semester, he decided to start a YouTube channel focused on sports news in Rwanda. Lacking equipment, he approached his lecturer, Sir. Festus Irungu , who managed the practical tools. Festus agreed to let him use the gear and offered ongoing encouragement, telling him to keep working hard. Before media, Regis played professional football for a while.   He later moved into sports journalism, at Radio IZUBA  and SANA radio covering sports programs across Rwanda.
